Contains Way of Perfection, Interior Castle, and Meditations on the Song of Songs. Includes Biographical Sketches.
Shortly after writing The Book of Her Life for her confessor, St. Teresa wrote The Way of Perfection at the request of her nuns who were eager to learn about prayer and contemplation. Throughout this work she teaches her nuns about prayer and also teaches us.
Toward the end of her life, after she had experienced both the spiritual betrothal and spiritual marriage, Teresa wrote The Interior Castle, her own panoramic view of her relationship with God, from the lowest stages to the highest. Teresa here demonstrates her great gift for writing about that relationship and attracting us to explore the possibility of pursuing it.
Along with these two classics, Volume Two also includes one of Teresa's minor works, her Meditations on the Song of Songs.

Collected Works of St Teresa of Avila Vol 2 edition by Teresa of Avila Kieran Kavanaugh Otilio Rodriguez Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
This selection was the recommended book of a retreat leader, the focus of the weekend was Interior Castles.Theresa writes in the sixteenth century, basically for her sister nuns, about her mystical visions and relationship with Jesus. Using this work with the retreat leader's commentary was very helpful.
Great translation.
There is nothing that I can add to what has been said about this collection. It is simply the greatest and most accessible of collection of contemplative writing I have read.
I have been reading St Teresa of Avila for over 35 years and find her insight, priorities, and guidance to be most helpful. I especially like how she wafts into conversational prayer with the Divine, while continuing to write.
A must read for anyone called to the "practice of the presence of God", or to the inward journey of "prayer of the Heart" ( A form of Christian mysticism)
Have just printed the work sheets for Fr. Kieran Kavanaugh's translation. I am familiar with the books in this volume and am anticipating the delights of the Carmelite printable worksheets as I enjoy the works of this wonderful saint one more time with yet more appreciation of her sharing capacity.
version has no page numbers accessible. Totally worthless for teaching / accuracy / citations checking.
This book collects two main works "The Way of Perfection," and "The Interior Castle." In addition, it contains "Meditation on the Song of Songs." I picked this book up when my spiritual advisor recommended that I read some of St. Teresa's writings. St. Teresa writes in a stream of thought type of way. She didn't plan out the chapters yet each one has an insight that was new to me or served as a useful reminder. This book can also serve as a good introduction to Carmelite spirituality.
